What is EMSculpt?
It is the first FDA-cleared energy device approved to burn fat and build muscle mass. EMSculpt contracts muscles beyond what is possible through voluntary effort, yielding better muscle tone and enhanced fat reduction. This process then triggers supramaximal contractions from your muscles, so that your body becomes toned and contoured. These "supramaximal contractions" create more tension and require more energy than a normal contraction. While this is all happening, the EMSculpt treatment also works to reduce your body’s fat cells.
How does EMSculpt work?
The process works by directing highly focused electromagnetic energy to the area, forcing the muscles to contract to 100% and holding it there for up to six seconds. The average person, no matter how strong, can only contract their muscles to their 30-35% capacity for a fraction of a second. In response to these contractions, the muscle reconstructs itself, and fat cells in the area are eliminated.
Does EMSculpt really work?
Take a look at our Emsculpt before and after photos and you’ll see that, yes, this is a treatment that definitely delivers. However hard you’ve been working out at the gym simply can’t compete with what the EMSculpt machine can do. Just one EMSculpt session is the equivalent of doing 20,000 sit ups. And there aren’t many people out there who could honestly say they’d rather do 20,000 sit ups in a 30-minute session, over letting a machine do it for them.
Is EMSculpt safe?
EMSculpt has been cleared by the FDA and it is safe to use.
What body areas can be treated?
We have seen great results when delivering EMSculpt on arms, abs, butt, calves, and thighs. Aside from these areas, EMSculpt for hip dips (the indented area beneath your hip bone on either side of your body), is becoming a common request too.
How many sessions will I need?
What’s great about EMSulpt is the fact you only need a small number of sessions to get the results you want. On average recommend between four to eight treatments in a two-week timeframe for best results. Clinical studies show a majority of patients (85%) feel most satisfied after four sessions.
What is EMSculpt recovery like?
EMSculpt is non-invasive and requires no recovery time. The treatment is a great option for many patients because they don’t have to prep for treatment or follow any kind of post-care plan. Some patients experience mild soreness, but nothing as intense as what you would feel from a traditional workout. Your body’s response to this treatment is rapid and results can be seen in around four weeks.
How long does an EMSculpt treatment last?
Each treatment is 30 minutes long with a minimum of 4 sessions scheduled 2-3 days apart. The treatment itself takes just 30 minutes and during that time, the area of your body that you want help with is targeted with high-intensity focussed electromagnetic energy.
What does an EMSculpt treatment feel like?
The EMSculpt procedure feels like an intensive workout. There is a tingling sensation similar to when your foot falls asleep. You can lay down and relax during the treatment as there is no pain!
How long will it take to see results?
After the last session it will take about 2-4 weeks to begin seeing the results, and usually peak at about 6 weeks after the last treatment
How long will EMSculpt results last?
If you work out once and never go back to the gym, those muscle atrophy, and the same is true for muscle mass gained by EMSculpt. You can expect to keep your results for six months to a year, but it is recommended that you keep these results up with a healthy lifestyle of diet and exercise. Many patients have been able to maintain their results for several years after their treatments by regularly exercising paired with healthy eating.
Are there any risks?
EMSculpt has been clinically tested for safety and efficacy through seven independent US-based clinical studies. In fact, on average, the following results were achieved in clinical studies on healthy patients:
• 19% reduction of fat
• 4 cm (~1.5 inches) loss in waistline circumference
• 16% increase in muscle mass
• 11% reduction in abdominal muscle separation (called diastasis recti)
• 5x increase in fat metabolism (apoptotic index increased from 19% to 92% after treatment)
• 80% patients with visible lifting effect of buttocks
• 96% patient satisfaction
How is EMSculpt different from CoolSculpting or fat dissolving?
Results from each treatment type are pretty different, and hard to compare. CoolSculpting and fat dissolving is used to target stubborn fat, where EMSculpt is used to build and tone muscle. Patients looking for a more toned look are great EMSculpt candidates. If patients want to reduce “pinchable” rolls of fat then they will likely be a better candidate for CoolSculpting or fat dissolving injections. Most patients fall somewhere in between these two extremes, and that’s where the consultation process helps to determine which treatment the better option.
Does EMSculpt hurt?
No! EMSculpt does not cause pain or discomfort. Patients usually say they feel a “pulling” sensation. We have total control of the treatment intensity, so patients are always treated at a level that is comfortable to them.

You cannot have EMSculpt if the following conditions are present: Pregnancy or breast feeding, cardiac pacemaker, defibrillator, implanted neurostimulator, drug pump or electronic implanted device. Metal rods, pins, plates, metal IUD (Mirena is safe) or orthopedic implants/joints
